Day 3: Chefchaouan - Volubilis - Fes (250 KM)

Breakfast. Continue your tour by heading south. After leaving Chefchaouen and the Rif Mountains, head towards the historic city of Fes, the scientific capital of the Kingdom of Morocco. Passing through Volubilis to visit the ancient Roman ruins that were the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Mauritania.

Founded in the third century BC, the Roman Empire made it an important site and dedicated it to magnificent buildings and monuments. It later became, for a short period, the capital of Idris I, the founder of the Idrisid state. He was buried near the archaeological site, which included well-preserved mosaics.

In the afternoon, head towards the city of Fes, passing through large areas of agricultural land, before arriving at the city of Fes, one of the oldest and most historic Moroccan cities.

Day 4: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt (200 KM)

After breakfast, a knowledgeable local guide eagerly waits to lead you on a captivating morning tour, revealing to you the history of the city of Fez, founded during the 8th century, and the city’s historical landmarks.

From the venerable Bou Inania School to the splendor of the Royal Palace and the oldest university in the world, Al-Qarawiyyin, which was founded in 857, wander through the alleys of the old city to get to know the finest goods and handmade products.

As the afternoon approaches, you begin your journey south through the Middle Atlas mountain range to the apple capital of Midelt. Passing through the charming city of Ifrane, famous for its Swiss-inspired aesthetics, amidst abundant cedar forests, enjoy the panoramic views and marvel at the majestic Barbary macaques.

Day 5: Midelt - Ziz Valley - Sahara Desert (260 KM)

After breakfast, resume your journey by heading south towards Merzouga, passing through the High Atlas Mountains and the vast green palm oases in the famous Ziz Valley. During your trip, you will stop at the highest panoramic point in the Ziz Valley, then drive along the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, the largest open-air paleontology museum in Morocco. Stop at one of the excavation work units to learn about the region’s history.

Finally, reach Merzouga, where you will be waiting for a camel ride across the golden dunes to enjoy the charming views, watch the sunset, and take unforgettable photos before heading towards the camp, where a delicious dinner and a musical evening await you around the fireplace, as well as listening to quiet notes under a sky studded with millions of stars.

Day 6: Explore the Sahara Desert by 4x4 vehicle

Wake up early and head to the nearest dunes to have the opportunity to watch the sunrise, which is considered one of the most beautiful and famous activities in the region. Then, return to camp for breakfast before setting off on an exceptional day to explore the area in a 4WD car.

After breakfast, you will start your adventure from the camp and then head towards the Hassi El Abyad Oasis to learn about the traditional irrigation system adopted. Head towards the city of Khamliya to learn about the distinctive and rich style of Gnawa music. Head towards Bedouin communities to learn about their lifestyle and how they adapt to life, then stop at several panoramic points.

Then, go to one of the restaurants to try Berber pizza, considered the region’s most famous dish. During the afternoon, there will be free time where you can try different activities, such as riding motorcycles, horses, quad bikes, and ATVs…

Day 7: Sahara Desert - Todgha Gorge - Ouarzazate (395 KM)

After breakfast, continue your journey west along the High Atlas Mountains, from the golden sands of Merzouga to the cinematic attraction of Ouarzazate through an enchanting tapestry of stunning landscapes and the region’s ancient history. The first is to immerse yourself in the beauty and grandeur of Tineghir’s Todgha Gorge and the picturesque Dades Valley.

We had wonderful trip to Morocco. Thanks to Said and Ibrahim with Saharan Tours.

Said accommodate all our requests and built a great itinerary for us. Including Riads, hotels, desert camp for our stay. Our transportation from destination to destination, and guided tours in each place.

Ibrahim drove us everywhere during 10 day trip, tirelessly helping us with everything. We are ever so grateful to him for his help. Especially because he had to be away from his family during the month of Ramadan.

The guides that company had for us were great (Fes and Marrakech medinas) Many many thanks and we recommend Saharan Tours to everyone thinking of a trip to Morocco.

John B Magical Morocco with Saharan Tours

My friend and I chose a private driver for 2 day/ 1 night in the Sahara desert from Marrakech. Our driver, Said, was so great. He was very knowledgeable, professional and kind.

This was during Ramadan so our trip may have been different otherwise. Not that we'd know as it was our first time in Morocco. Somethings were closed for Ramadan but I think also it was nice because there were less people around. We still got to see all sites and eat at great food stops. Said, our driver even bought us a box of dates from a village he went to school in. Very thoughtful. We felt safe with him and the car was clean and comfortable.

And yes. The drive was long ( took us 10 hrs each way) but you see so many things and make a few stops ( whatever you want!). It was easy and beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone. Once at the tent, if you don't take the camels to the spot then you get to take the 4×4 car and ride over the dunes. That is what we did and it was so fun. The camp was so cool and the views are what it's all about.

Personally. The one night tour was ideal ( and we were short on time ). This was the perfect trip with a trustworthy company. Thanks Said!!!!!

Lim J Great trip to the Sahara desert.

Our long overdue holiday to Morocco was amazing. From the first contact with Said to a 10 day trip with Youssef.

All communication/ Emails to Said were replied to quickly and I understood exactly what we were getting. I never felt like anything was a problem or a hassle.

Our driver Youssef was the best. We couldn't have asked for a better person to share our experience with and we will always remember him and feel we have a connection to Morocco through him. His local knowledge and general warmth made our long days together fun. Our 10 day trip from Casablanca to Casablanca and everywhere in between captured so many different experiences. And a special highlight was the New Year's event in the Sahara desert.

I can't recommend Saharan Tours company enough. I just hope one day we can go back with all the family for some more.
