Program Itinerary of 4 Days Tour from Errachidia to Ouarzazate
Day 1: Errachidia > Ziz valley > Erfoud > Rissani > Sahara desert
In the morning, your journey will start from Errachidia. On your day tour from Errachidia to Merzouga Desert, you can explore the captivating landscapes of the Sahara region. Highlights include the Ziz Valley with its palm groves, the Tafilalet Oasis, and the captivating city of Erfoud, known for its fossils.
As you approach Merzouga, you will see the towering Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy the unique experience of a camel ride or a 4WD trip through the heart of the dunes to enjoy a magical sunset in the desert before heading towards the camp, stargazing under the clear desert sky. Dinner with an unforgettable night in luxury tents.
Day 2: Explore the Sahara desert area by 4x4 vehicle
Wake up early and head to the nearest dunes to have the opportunity to watch the sunrise, which is considered one of the most beautiful and famous activities in the region. Then, return to camp for breakfast before setting off on an exceptional day to explore the area by 4×4 car.
After breakfast, you will start your adventure from the camp and then head towards the Hassi El Abyad Oasis to learn about the traditional irrigation system adopted. Head towards the city of Khamliya to learn about Gnawa music’s distinctive and rich style. Head towards Bedouin communities to learn about their lifestyle and how they adapt to life, then stop at several panoramic points.
Then, go to one of the restaurants to try Berber pizza, considered the region’s most famous dish. During the afternoon, there will be free time where you can try different activities, such as riding motorcycles, horses, quad bikes, and ATVs.
Day 3: Merzouga desert > Ouzina > Ramlia > Tafraoute Sidi Ali
After enjoying breakfast at camp, you will head deep into the southern desert for a day of exploration. The first stop is a visit to the wonderful quarry known for dinosaur fossils near the town of Al-Bagaa, which provides a unique glimpse into the region’s prehistoric times. Then, visit the rock inscriptions in Taous, which provide a window into the region’s history and ancient culture.
To continue your journey, you will follow the famous route of the Dakar Rally, the world-famous off-road endurance event. This part of the trip will take you through the stunning desert landscape of Erg Ouzina, characterized by its magnificent dunes.
This adventure will lead you to the village of Ramliya, a quiet and leafy border town famous for its oases, where you can appreciate the contrast between desert and green oasis. Finally, you will arrive in the village of Tafraout, where you will spend the night in a traditional riad that provides comfort and hospitality in a charming atmosphere.
Day 4: Tafraoute > Todgha gorge > Boumaln Dades > Skoura > Ouarzazate
On the last day, after breakfast, continue your desert journey from Tafraout to Ouarzazate, which promises diverse landscapes. The journey will take you through semi-desert terrain to the Tineghir Valley, known for its green spaces and traditional Berber villages. Visit the Todgha Gorge, which is considered one of Morocco’s most beautiful rocky valleys. Then, drive through the rugged Dades Valley, famous for its unique rock tectonics.
Then, pass through the fragrant Valley of Roses, famous for its rose plantations and the products derived from them. The Skoura Oasis, with its palm groves and the historic Kasbah of Amridil, follows, offering an insight into Moroccan architecture.
Finally, in Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” we will explore the Kasbah of Taourirt and film studios such as Atlas Studios, which showcase the city’s cinematic history.

My friend and I chose a private driver for 2 day/ 1 night in the Sahara desert from Marrakech. Our driver, Said, was so great. He was very knowledgeable, professional and kind.
This was during Ramadan so our trip may have been different otherwise. Not that we'd know as it was our first time in Morocco. Somethings were closed for Ramadan but I think also it was nice because there were less people around. We still got to see all sites and eat at great food stops. Said, our driver even bought us a box of dates from a village he went to school in. Very thoughtful. We felt safe with him and the car was clean and comfortable.
And yes. The drive was long ( took us 10 hrs each way) but you see so many things and make a few stops ( whatever you want!). It was easy and beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone. Once at the tent, if you don't take the camels to the spot then you get to take the 4×4 car and ride over the dunes. That is what we did and it was so fun. The camp was so cool and the views are what it's all about.
Personally. The one night tour was ideal ( and we were short on time ). This was the perfect trip with a trustworthy company. Thanks Said!!!!!
